Turtlefest Geocaching

One of the activities included in the festival’s agenda is Turtlefest Geocaching!

The geocache route will be primarily designed for beginners to provide an enjoyable geocache experience. For those participants who are experienced geocachers, it is suggested that you do the route first then head out again to find the rest of the geocaches in town.

All geocaches placed for the the festival will be “official geocaches” that will be published on geocaching.com. Some of the new geocaches placed for the event will include information cards about turtles found in Ontario. On these cards are letters that when unscrambled spell the name of the new Tillsonburg turtle mascot. Find the geocaches with the cards, fill in the answer sheet that you receive from the geocache display at the Station Arts Centre, and return it to the same display by 3:00pm for your chance to win the grand prize – the Turtlefest Treasure Chest! The draw will be held at 3:30pm!

The Turtlefest Geocaching starts at the Station Arts Centre (41 Bridge Street West – N42 51.729 W80 43.935) at 8:00am and goes throughout the day until 3:00pm when the completed sheets need to be submitted to enter the draw. Stop by the display table to pickup the coordinates and other information for the geocaches.

Brendah will be at the display throughout the day, if you have any questions or just want to chat. And geocacher volunteers will be available to assist new cachers or anyone who has not geocached before. They will be your tour guide and help in the search!

It is not all done at this point… After a great day of geocaching in Tillsonburg, come to the Tillsonburg Turtlefest Feast event (no turtles are included in the feast) held at Le Chef Restaurant – 519 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg at 5:30pm. The restaurant provides a buffet style meal.

There are only 40 seats available! Further information about the event or to log your “Will Attend” visit this link: GC2T1X3 Tillsonburg Turtlefest Feast
