In 2009 the Ontario Geocaching Association held a design competition for the official OGA geocoin.  The winning design was created by res2100.  The association sold 302 geocoins. Here are some pictures of the winning 2009 geocoin (sample coins shown).  The 2009 OGA Geocoin came in a variety of finishes a few are shown below.   The regular finish was Antique Silver as seen in the images below.

There were two additional finishes which were reserved for individuals that invested in the creation of the coin.  These members paid for a $100 investment in the creation of the coin.  Once the coins were sold the investors received their capital back and a free OGA geocoin as a thank you for their investment .  These investments meant the association did not have to go into debt in order to produce the coins.
