I recently attended a meeting of Surrounding Waterloo And Region Munzers (SWARM), and discovered that a bunch of geocachers are enjoying playing the munzee game as well as geocaching. There were 30 people in attendance at the event. That’s a pretty decent sized event that was organized solely on facebook.
It’s not surprising that there would be that many people show up in Waterloo. The local CREW events regularly attract more then 70 attendees every two months. Waterloo and Mississauga seem to be hot beds of munzee activity. There are over 2300 munzees in Waterloo compared with less than 1000 geocaches.
How popular munzee will get is anyone’s guess. It is already more popular then opencaching. Do you play munzee? Let us know by posting a comment here or on Facebook.
