Thanks
John
Hey, John. I’m a newbie to geocaching to. There’s lots of geocaching books out there, like the complete idiot’s giude to geocaching and the geocaching hnadbook. These are only few of the examples.
Another great place to start is by attending a local event. Lots of people to answer questions there
on the sign up page under region my area is called Timiskaming under your definition, but it is actually (Temiskaming). it has been a long time misinterpretation for anywhon asked. Our city is called Temiskaming shores ontario,(formerly New liskeard ontario). the tri-towns have amalgamated intoa city in this area.
HI Russell,
Thanks for pointing out the error. It has been changed in the Forum.

I was a free member but we moved a year ago and had not got restarted. I found it very interesting and educational. Would like to get back into Geocaching again.
I’d like to learn about Geocaching by accompanying a group. Is there a group in north Toronto (Newmarket area) that I would allow me to follow along and ask a million questions? I’d be willing to travel if your group isn’t in York Region.
Thanks in advance for your responses.
HI Jim,
It would be a good idea to post your request on the OGA Forum and ask the same question. Groups of cachers arrange to got out often but do not make it an official time. If you post in the forum that you are interested people might let you know when they go out.
OGA does not organize outings but you could also contact the Golden Horseshoe Monthly Geocaching Club – res2100 organizes monthly outings in the golden horseshoe area… website is http://www.ghcaching.ca/
And one other group – Central Ontario Geocachers (COG) – http://www.centralontariogeocachers.com/forums/index.php . Their forum may have some information about going out with a group. You could also post there about looking for a group to cache with as well.
Hope that helps!

Just a quick question. Filled out the form to become a member a few days ago.
How long does it take for the association to get back to you for you to know if you’ve been accepted or not?
Everyone is accepted. Rest assured your name is in the membership database.
I tried to sign up, but no Algoma region in list.
