Favourite Caches

The Sarnia waterfront is home to a dozen or so caches ranging from easy traditionals to some more challenging multi and puzzle caches. Canatara Caper offers a tour of Canatara park while Bluewater Country takes you on a tour from a lookout over Lake Huron to Sarnia Bay where you'll find a collection of caches waiting for you.

A rail trail runs from Sarnia, along the lake and is home to Cache Hawks Challenge, a short but challenging multi and close by you'll find Wawanosh Wetlands where Jem Box, the first cache placed in Lambton County, is located.

Petrolia, Canada's Victorian Oil Town, has an extensive network of parks and conservation areas and the town is a big supporter of geocaching - listing it as a local activity on their web-site and in their trail brochures. For an introduction take the Petrolia Walking Tour or for a challenging multi in a scenic Conservation area try Lorne’s Woods

The Ausable River gorge marks the boundary with Middlesex County in the East and features some great caching locations. To combine geocaching with fossil hunting, visit Mystery Falls and Trilobite Tomb. Tour Rocks that Grew, the first Earthcache in Canada, stop in and find the Butterfly Effect, where the last Karner Blues in Canada were seen, or for a quick visit to a beautiful stretch of beach close to Pinery Provincial Park, try JoeTye1 on the Beach.
