I’m often asked what would make me want to get a trackable Travel Bug tattoo or what will I do if I stop Geocaching. Well, I’ve wanted to get a tattoo now for about 20 years or so and for one reason or another I never got around to getting it done, which in hindsight I’m glad I didn’t (I originally wanted to get a tattoo of Hong Kong Phooey, who is a cartoon character from the 70’s). I’ve used Egghammer as my user name for most everything and had made a logo for it for my sports pools around 20 years ago. I love Geocaching and don’t ever foresee me not continuing participating in this hobby/sport, so it was a natural fit that I decided to combine the two.
I was in the middle of a week full of personal milestones, on July 29th I turned 40, it was my Wife and my 15th Anniversary on August 4th and it was my 3rd Anniversary Geocaching on July 27th. I thought now would be the perfect time to get it done and July 31st was the day. I took my 3 Daughters (Kayla, Ashley & Kaitlyn) with me because they all really wanted to see it get done and 6 and a half hours later I was now a trackable!
Geocaching is a big part of my life, I love being able to hang out with my 3 Daughters doing something we all enjoy, I’ve made some great friends in the Geocaching community and love meeting Geocachers on the trails and at Events and now with this unique Travel Bug I have one more story to tell.
For anyone interested in discovering this Travel Bug tattoo, the Tracking Code is GEKRR5, there is a new icon for Travel Bug tattoos and please keep your fingers crossed that this Travel Bug never goes missing!
