COTM: Weelow

weelow has been voted this month’s Cacher of the Month. He is the youngest cacher of the month ever and is sure to be a prominent cacher in the upcoming years.

Q and A with weelow

Q: Where do you call home?

A: Right now, most of my time is spent chillin’ in “da crib” with my homies Pooh-Bear and Tigger. I live in Waterloo with my ‘rents, eelow and beelow.

Q: Where does the name weelow come from?

A: My dad thought it would be a great way to continue our family name tradition. eelow, beelow and weelow. I guess they think I am small or something, so “Wee” was the name chosen. When I grow up to be 6’8 and tower over my dad, I’ll probably change my name to “gigantow”

Q: When you are not caching, what do you do? (work and/or relax?)

A: I am between jobs right now, so most of my time is spent with my mom, hanging out at home and eating. I sleep a lot too. I guess I am exactly like a 19 year old son who never went to college and still lives at home.. only smaller.

Q: How long have you been geocaching?

A: Since before I was born…seriously! I was born, about 4 weeks ago and had already placed a cache and bought a coin. I rock!

Q: How did you find out about geocaching?

A: Both my parents introduced me to the pleasures of finding Tupperware when I was still “on the inside”. When I got out, it was a natural fit.

Q: Have you gotten anyone else involved in the sport?

A: Not yet, but I am sure when I have a brother or sister, they will come out with me on my hunts. I plan on making sure all my friends are hunters and not “muggles”.

Q: What gear do you use for caching?

A: Usually a bib, sleeper and hat. Oh, and a carseat too. That’s real important. You can never be too safe ya know. My dad uses a Garmin GPSmap 60Cs and a Pocket PC for paperless caching.

Q: Tell us some of your caching milestones. (First, most memorable etc.)

A: I just released my first coin which should be really cool. I hope that when I am old enough, my dad and I will go and visit wherever it ends up.

Q: What are your favourite caches?

A: Right now, my dad’s “evil in the park” series is the coolest, most awesome and awe inspiring cache series ever made. He truly is a genius of epic proportions. I also like the soccer series he did. There are lots of caches I can’t wait to do, like the stupid bunny caches (I already hate the bunny) and some of the more clever hides around here by our awesome local cachers. I also like caches that my stroller can get to!

Q: What are your least favourite caches?

A: Really bumpy caches. You know.. I am really young and my bones are just not ready for the type of caches some people put out there. I also dislike any cache that takes longer than 30 minutes.. you know I gotta eat like every 2 hours right? Sheesh!

Q: Any recent highlights you would like to share?

A: I placed my first cache before I was born!

Q: Any thoughts on caching you would like to share?

A: If I can do it, anyone can! Seriously! I’m 4 weeks old people!!

Thanks to weelow for taking time out from his busy schedule of eating, sleeping and diaper changes to share a few moments with all of us. Looking forward to reading more of your future adventures.
