If you can cache on the last day of the year then we know the winter weather won’t stop you. Knowing that we are sure you won’t mind being cacher of the month for January.

Where does the name “Treknschmidt” come from?
Our name is simply our last name “Schmidt” and what we like to do, go “Trekn” thru the woods.
When you are not caching, what do you do for fun?
We enjoy traveling in our RV which we have affectionately named the Beast.
How long have you been geocaching?
August 20, 2007
How did you find out about geocaching?
It started in early August of 2007 when Mrs T. read a Facebook post from Win of “Scratch-n-Win”. A few messages were exchanged explaining the basics of geocaching and within weeks we had ordered our first GPSr and were ready to hit the trails.
Have you gotten anyone else involved in the sport?
We have dragged a few family members and friends out onto the trails. Our most recent recruit is K9-CRAZY she is off to a great start, watch for her on the trails.
What gear do you use for caching?
60Csx, Oregon 300, Palm Z22, BB Bold, BB Curve and sometimes a couple of Kayaks.

First cache – Spragues Road Pit Stop (GCPYR1) Most Scenic Hike – Rocky Hike, Scenic Drive. (GC1498V) Most Memorable – Runestone (GC1CD2H)
What are your favourite caches?
We enjoy caches that take us on a nice long hike with our two Geodogs .We also have a new love for cave caches and those we can kayak to.
What are your least favourite caches?
Anything that involves urban muggle activity
Any recent highlights you would like to share?
Being nominated for COTM … we are still floored and very honoured. What a great way to start off a New Year!!!
Any thoughts on caching you would like to share?
Caching has given us the opportunity to visit many places we never would have gone before. We are thankful for the great friendships and many memories we have made along the way.
