Bear Sightings in Milton

A bear has been reported in Milton.  This may be a common occurrence North of Toronto it is not so common in the Milton area of Ontario.   Having cached in this area many times it is with interest that I am watching this report.  According to the Independant Free Press the 400lb male black bear has been spotted:

  • near the Sixth Line/Lower Base Line area Sunday
  • near Guelph Line/Hwy 401 area on Saturday

A bear bell would be a good idea when caching in this area for the next little while.  Follow this link for additional black bear saftey tips.

UPDATE:

The bear spotted near Milton has been dispatched by the Burlington Police.
