Are You Up For Another G.A.M.E.?

I remember attending my first Flash Mob Event, (GC1YTHT, WWFM VI City Under Siege, by HomerJFong) a couple of years ago, and enjoyed myself immensely! What fun!  Gather everyone together for a short time to share caching tips, stories of past caching exploits, discover, or exchange trackables, or just hang out and have a good time.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I can be a bit competitive, as well as having a sense of humour that is a notch or two away from normal, so I began to think, “If it can be done in 15 minutes, can it be done faster? Sure! I know, I’ll get everyone over to my place for ONE minute, for a quick chat, sign the logbook, and pass trackables around.” At the same time, it would give my neighbours a chance to meet some of the folks who share my interest in going out into the woods after hidden Tupperware, and who occasionally show up here looking for Break Time, (GCYRFP).  The Acronym G.A.M.E., (short for Got A Minute Event), quite literally just came to me in a flash.

All I needed to do now was to figure out when I was going to have my event.  Halloween, my favourite day of the year, was only a few months away, and it seemed like the perfect day for it, as it would give attendees the option of coming in costume if they wished, and it turned out to be a great decision, as I even had Jigsaw, (who somehow managed to appear in every picture that I took), and an ostrich-clad Derrell, (whom my neighbours are still asking about, even almost a year later, LOL!), show up, to join in the fun!

When the big day arrived, and everyone showed up, it turned out to be a great time for everyone, chatting and laughing about this and that, and generally getting to know new caching friends, as well as catching up with old ones.

During that first event, and after, I got asked by several cachers if I was going to be having any more, so it looks like a new tradition has been born, with the second edition happening this year on Halloween, (GC2EAX1 Are You Up For Another G.A.M.E.?)

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
