Wow where to start, I’ll do my best to make it exciting so you continue to read on – I am known to muggles as Lisa Donaldson, but in the world of geocaching I am known as “wheezor”. I am also the owner of Cacher’s Toy Box and we are located in the Lakefield/Peterborough area.
Since I grew up in the Geocaching Capital of Canada, I thought I should check out what this geocaching was all about. I found my first cache, with the help of my brother, on December 25, 2006. I probably don’t have to mention that we took a detour on the way to dinner in order to find the cache. My husband became a member as well within the last year and that is when I have done the majority of my caching.
There have been occasions where I have been caching in an area that I thought I knew, but there always seems to be that wow factor … wow I didn’t know this was here or wow I didn’t know we had this so close to home. Geocaching has taken us on some pretty fantastic adventures and has created a lot of great memories.
What does being on the OGA executive mean to me? The social aspect of geocaching is very rewarding – I have had the opportunity meet some amazing people both on the trails as well as at events. I look forward to hearing your ideas, what is working or what isn’t working in our area. If you have an idea for an event or need help with planning an event please feel free to drop me a note. I believe our area has so much to offer and so many awesome adventures to be had. As part of the executive I am here to promote geocaching and get the word out and encourage more people to become involved in what has or can easily become an addiction.
Where will your next geo-adventure take you?
Hello!
Parks Canada is attending a Travel Trade event in a few weeks in Gatineau and we are looking to do some geocaching at the event. Would you be interested in participating? And by ‘you’ I mean the Ontarion Geocaching Association and/or yourself? Please contact me asap.
Thanks!
Thanks to bluelamb03 (Lib) and his crew in the Eastern Region for looking after this.
